As I perused the Celtic training images sent out by the club this week, there was one big takeaway for me; not something that will have any bearing on the League Cup semi-final, but instead, a nod to the future.
We cover Celtic in-depth every day, not much gets past us when it comes to what’s going on at the club.
One Celtic player who seems to be quietly going about his business is young Owen Moffat. The winger came onto many Celtic supporters radar after pre-season when the youngster had some good outings with the Hoops side.
Owen then went straight into the Colt side for the Lowland League and has again done very well under Tommy McIntyre.
We spoke to Celtic Colt coach, Darren O’Dea last week and he revealed the call up to first-team training can happen at ANY time.
A clip from our press conferences with @odea_darren last week.
The B Team Coach details younger players can be called up for a first-team training session quite promptly.
I have noticed Owen Moffat getting a lot of face time with the first team lately. pic.twitter.com/hOxT44Gw85

Moffat seems to be going back and forth between the B side and the first team. Obviously, he’s not making the squad, but Age Postecoglou clearly has his eye on the young Celtic star.
It’s exciting for the Celtic support. While we are all focused on the first team rebuild, having players underneath who are being readied for the first team is great to hear and see.
