Football Scotland has released Celtic’s provisional squad for their match against Aberdeen. Included is the highly-rated winger, Karamoko Dembele.

The youngster has been out since pre-season after he was on the receiving end of a crunching tackle. After undergoing surgery, the 18-year-old returned to training in January and is now in contention for Wednesday’s match.

The player was exceptionally highly rated coming through the ranks, but his future hangs in the balance. After the club extended his contract to the end of this season, his future is yet to be decided. Postecoglou is still to look at the player; he will do so before deciding if he is keen to keep the young lad at the club.

The English youth international is free to speak to clubs and agree to a pre-contract; no reports have occurred.

With James Forrest coming to the end of his career and his performances dipping, Karamoko would be an ideal replacement.

The entire provisional squad for the match is as follows;

Joe Hart, Josip Juranovic, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Carl Starfelt, Greg Taylor, Matt O’Riley, Callum McGregor, Reo Hatate, Liel Abada, Giorgos Giakoumakis, Jota, Scott Bain, Christopher Jullien, Liam Scales, James McCarthy, Mikey Johnston, James Forrest, Daizen Maeda, Anthony Ralston, Ben Doak, Karamoko Dembele.

Not every player will make the cut, but it’s promising to see Karamoko in the mix.
