Earlier today, CeltsAreHere reported on a burgeoning rumour circulating within Celtic’s online community concerning Daizen Maeda’s fitness. According to sources, during a private Q&A session, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers indicated that Maeda’s recovery was progressing far more swiftly than anticipated, suggesting his return to the squad could be imminent—potentially as soon as next week.
In pursuit of clarity on these claims, our team obtained confirmation from two independent attendees of the event, substantiating that Rodgers indeed provided this optimistic update.
The event, an exclusive gathering for Celtic shareholders in the investors’ lounge, presented an opportunity for stakeholders to engage directly with the Celtic manager. During the discourse, a shareholder inquired about the fitness levels of both Callum McGregor and Daizen Maeda.
RE: Maeda Rumours
Rodgers did take part in a Q&A for an investors lounge event. I’ve had it confirmed by two people in attendance Rodgers did say Maeda is back running already and could be back as early as next week.

Should Rodgers’ latest assessment hold true, Maeda could be available for the upcoming matches against Hearts and Rangers at Celtic Park. Remarkably, Maeda has been sidelined since scoring the initial goal of the match against Rangers at Ibrox within the first 22 seconds—an impressive feat.
The potential early return of Maeda, who appeared to have sustained a season-ending injury just a few weeks ago, is tremendously encouraging. His rapid recovery not only boosts the team’s prospects during the crucial run-in but also positions his resilience as a subject worthy of scientific study.

I do hope Maeda is back, he is an enormous powerhouse, his covering back is amongst the best I have ever seen from a winger, Taylor is lost without Maeda & Hatate in front of him.
Maeda only needs a better final touch around and inside opposition penalty box.
I do hope he returns soon and can get over any injuries.
Obviously Daizen Maeda wears glasses ! Are they for reading , distance ,or maybe both ? I would imagine that he would wear contact lenses during matches ? My point is this : He covers every single blade of grass twice over during a game – at high speed – and I’m wondering if all that exertion would have some sort of hindrance to his contact lenses and his overall vision ? It could be a factor with his final passes which can be wayward ? It’s all speculation on my part ,but I believe it to be relevant ? Having said that , for me Daizen Maeda is one of the most genuine and hardest working players Celtic have had in a long ,long time ! Oh ,and he’s fitter than a Butcher’s dug ……
