CELTIC are looking to add a striker to their ranks in the January transfer window, with currently only two first-team centre forwards at the club.
The Hoops face the prospect of both Kyogo and Oh being away for the full of January and some of February at the Asian Cup, leaving the side strikerless for games against Buckie Thistle and Ross County at home and Aberdeen and Hibs away.
CeltsAreHere can reveal that Sydney van Hooijdonk is a potential option for Brendan Rodgers, with initial discussions taking place with the player. However, Celtic hasn’t formally approached Bologna and a price has not been discussed.
Celtic were interested in the son of Pierre in the summer.
After netting 16 goals last season, he’s only scored once this season, with that one coming in the cup.
He’s only had one start in the Serie A, and has recently opened up on his future, saying; [SunSport]
“I’m fine. I’m at a good team and I like life a lot. But I have to do what’s best for my growth. For my career. I also have to play.
“In football, things can change quickly. There are two months left until January and who knows what will happen?”
Celtic have also been linked with Miovski of Aberdeen in the past week.
We need three strikers that are fit every player capable of playing every week at sometime watching the game I see runs kyoko makes and no pass it confidence pass the ball if it’s cut out try again need to change players making runs all over pitch but easy is pass rather than the through ball is the choice Taylor pass is back 90 per cent centre backs passing to each other that’s alright but the have to move forward with every pass they were awful in second half Kilmarnock change there tactic and Rodgers had no one on the bench to change his tactic so we never one a second ball I can’t be to critical gugby park pitch ball comes of that plastic high bounce our players could not get it done before been challenged players like Johnston palma need the ball on the ground ref allowed things allowing fir slippy surface which went against Celtic it was just the perfect storm but pundits who players the game never mentioned the surface and hiw much it effects players Celtic a team that plays the ball along the ground as for killie who have good players but don’t play much in there own half punt it high then attack second ball I’m surprised Celtic midfield didn’t protect the ball with there bodies get the foul and play when facing opposition the have to be more streetwise yes wearing hoops you don’t get protection in by most scottush officials I don’t if it’s favouring smaller teams or just bias but stats don’t lie
