Celtic fans have been preoccupied this week, fretting over what players will be fit for the League Cup Final on Sunday, not much else has came onto our radar.

That’s why when pictures of Lennoxtown training were put online yesterday of all the key players training, it was very easy to miss a returning player to the squad.

Who? You might ask.

Kundai Benyu.

A man who has been gone since January after Brendan Rodgers decided to loan the player out to Helsingborg for the whole year. Like his other loan deals under Celtic, it didn’t quite work out for him in Sweden. Although the midfielder can now claim he has been managed by Henrik Larsson who returned for a short stint at the club this year.

Kundai came in with promise but has not been near the first team in a couple of years. The midfielder is now back training with the first team with Neil Lennon running the rule over him.

He can’t be registered to play for Celtic until after the new year.
