Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Serie B side Como have initiated discussions with Barcelona over a potential loan move for promising left-back Alex Valle. The Italian club views Valle as a key target and are pushing hard to secure his services.
However, the deal hinges on another major development. Romano reports on X that Kieran Tierney’s potential return to Celtic could trigger Valle’s departure.
The Scottish international has been linked with a move back to Parkhead, and talks between Celtic and Tierney have reportedly progressed as Celtic chase a pre-contract agreement. Despite this, any January move would require Celtic to negotiate terms with Tierney’s current club, Arsenal.
Valle’s Mixed Spell at Celtic
Alex Valle’s time at Celtic has seen mixed fortunes. Since arriving on loan from Barcelona, the 19-year-old has featured 20 times in matchday squads. He has started seven games, come off the bench four times, and been an unused substitute on nine occasions.

While Valle has shown glimpses of his potential, consistent starting opportunities have been limited due to Greg Taylor being Celtic’s first-choice left-back and strong competition in the squad. A return to Barcelona this window could offer the youngster a chance to reset and potentially find more regular minutes at Como, who see him as a top talent capable of strengthening their defensive ranks.
Negotiations in Full Swing
Romano’s update suggests that Como are prepared to wait for developments regarding Tierney’s future. If Celtic secure Tierney’s signature earlier than anticipated, Valle could cut his loan spell short and be recalled by Barcelona to facilitate a switch to Italy.
Celtic supporters will no doubt want to see Tierney back in the green and white, as the Scottish full-back remains a fan favourite. His potential return would not only bolster Celtic’s backline but could also provide clarity for Alex Valle’s next move.
With negotiations ongoing, Celtic’s pursuit of Tierney could prove to have a domino effect.
Good luck to the kid, also if he goes to Italy and does well then we can look forward to a £3.5m sell on fee from Barcelona when he moves on !!!!!!!
