Former Celtic defender Jeremie Frimpong is attracting a lot of interest as he continues to impress in Bundesliga [@FabrizioRomano].

The 21-year old made the switch to Germany almost two years ago and has been one of the standout players for Bayer Leverkusen this season even though the club currently sit three points off the bottom of the table.

It was all square at the weekend for Leverkusen as they drew 2-2 with Wolfsburg with Frimpong getting on the scoresheet to pull the game level.

Leverkusen still have a chance of qualifying for European football after Christmas with games against Atletico Madrid and Club Brugge remaining in the Champions League.

Frimpong played a huge part in the clubs 2-0 victory over Atletico Madrid and will be looking to put in a similar performance this week.

The former Manchester City academy star has already been pre-selected for the Netherlands World Cup squad and if selected by Louis van Gaal will attract even further interest.

Frimpong’s contract expires in 2025 but it is likely that he will make an exit from the club at some point before then with Manchester United sending scouts to watch the talented youngster [@Plettigoal] as Ten Hag has expressed an interest.

Celtic are set to cash in on any future move for Frimpong with a sell-on clause being included in his contract when he made the switch to Bayer Leverkusen. However the extent of the clause is not common knowledge.
