Jeremie Frimpong burst onto the Celtic scene on Wednesday night and put in a performance that landed him man of the match inside the stadium.

The former Manchester City man joined the club at the start of the month and has already made his debut – it speaks volumes for how Neil Lennon rates him at this moment in time.

Jeremie along with Lee O’Connor flew under the radar on deadline day with the player’s coming in from both sides of the Manchester divide.

The figures behind the deals were published at the time but not many people were paying attention so we’re here to recap what we know about this Celtic deal at present which has been backed up by Manchester Evening News.

Celtic paid £350k up-front.

The fee could rise to as much a £1m with £650k of add-ons attached to the player based on appearances.

Manchester City have put a 30% sell-on clause into the deal which will see them land a significant chunk of the player’s future fee should Celtic sell Jeremie.

There is NO buy-back clause for City. Rumours on social media were suggesting this was the case but it’s 100% not.

  1. Interesting to note about the Frimpong deal is that Manchester City inserted a buy-back clause when the deal was being made. So it would seem City will have first dibs on the player if and when he leaves.
