Germany are in town ahead of their Euro qualifying match with Scotland at Hampden tonight and an old familiar face came to visit Celtic Park before watching his country play Scotland tonight.

Former Celt Andreas Hinkel took the time to visit Celtic Park this morning and visit some old friends.

The retired right back left Celtic in 2011 after a string of unfortunate injuries cut his time at Celtic short.

Hinkel was a £1.9m capture for the Bhoys in January 2008. Making 78 apprearances for the club during his time in Glasgow.

Sadly, at the very young age of 30, he was forced to retire from playing due to persistent injuries.

He spoke today of his delight at returning.

“Feels great to be back and it’s fantastic to meet old friends. Celtic is still in my heart and always will be” said the German.

HH Andreas!
