DAIZEN MAEDA has worked under Ange Postecoclou last season and played in the same league as Kyogo Furuhashi.

He will have knowledge of the striker but he is now looking forward to the future and preparing for a possible partnership with Celtic’s number 8.

Under Postecoglou, Maeda thrived and suited the Australian’s system very well, the 24-year-old will be looking to replicate his form from Japan in Scotland.

Speaking to the press on Tuesday, Maeda talked about a possible partnership with Kyogo.

He talked about the pair’s similar physical attributes and looked forward to the second half of the season.

“I’m extremely looking forward to playing with Kyogo,” Maeda told the BBC

“Both of us have similar speed as a strength and can apply pressure to the opposing team when it comes to attacking.

“My style of play is to put all my energy in to the games, so I can’t wait to show that to the fans.

“The ultimate goal is to win the league. In order to do that, I need to score lots of goals so that’s my focus.”

Turning his attention to Ange, the new signing admitted he admired the boss and has a lot of respect for him.

“I really admire his strong views and opinions,”

“He is the kind of manager you want to follow and do your best with.”
