NEIL LENNON has taken a pop at his former captain Scott Brown after the player gave his verdict on John McGinn’s ability in his press conference on Tuesday.

The Celtic captain praised the Hibs player and called him a better player than he was at John’s age.

This hasn’t gone over well with Lennon who seems to be getting fed up with the John McGinn saga.

“I think it’s a bit presumptuous from Scott.

“I don’t know the context of the interview and the atmosphere of the interview, and I’m aware John is admired by a lot of people in the Scottish game, but it’s a bit early from that sort of talk.

“I would prefer it if – regardless of what club John may go to – the players at that club wait until he actually arrives. Then they can talk about him as much as they want.

“We have had two bids in from Celtic which have been rebuffed.”

  1. I don’t see what NL is getting at. Scott Browns comments were legitimate and fair.
Neil getting uptight about nothing. Both NL and McGinn are being used by Hibs here.
Celtic made a fair and just offer, which was refused. Petrie is at it.
Bide your time Celtic. Consider Mr McGinn to be on loan just now.
The only difference is that he can play against us this season.

  2. As a addendum, I would remind Neil that Scott Brown can talk about whoever he wants and whenever he wants. It is not logical to suggest that Scott has to wait until a player comes to the club before he can talk about them.

  3. Who the heck does Lennon think he is dictating what and who can or cannot say. It’s he who wan’ts to shut up, he’s forever moaning about how disrespectful everybody is. Mr Saint ? He’s making an untidy job of the possible McGinn transfer with his silly comments.
