Cameron Harper is set to leave Celtic for New York Red Bulls it has emerged after the US club agreed a small feel for the midfielder.

There has been speculation for weeks but RecordSport report the winger will move this month, ending his two year association with the club.

Harper moved to Celtic from Pateadores SC in 2018 but hasn’t made the breakthrough to the first team.

Their has been speculation the lack of pathway to the first team at Celtic has had a major bearing on the American’s thinking.

Celtic’s youth exodus is nothing short of a disgrace. We’ve lost key up and comers to Bayern, Manchester City and most lately Liverpool.

We are also set to lose Karamoko Dembele in the summer. There’s a lack of any real purpose other than training for our young hopefuls and we’ve let some great talent slip through our fingers. Harper will become another man who has decided to leave for the betterment of his career.

The club has to address this.

  1. If a development team can’t play in Scotland ,why not join forces with a team in Northern Ireland and send players and coaches over for several days a week while the other days are spent in Scotland ,and play matches at the weekends .
The young players would benefit and so would the Irish League, again only possible when this pandemic is under control maybe it should be run by Dom first.
Does someone we all know have interest in a certain League of Ireland team ,options everywhere.
    Just a thought.
