Celtic players will be heading to Aberdeen this afternoon to stay overnight in anticipation for their Boxing day clash with the Dons – so a lot of the players were having Christmas dinner with their families on Christmas Eve instead of the big day.

The long trip to the fixture means Brendan Rodgers couldn’t risk heading up tomorrow morning and wants his players to be well rested for the game.

Four Celts got together for the Christmas Eve occasion and even shared a snap with their followers on Instagram.

Dedryck Boyata, Tom Rogic, Cristian Gamboa and Dorus de Devries all sat down with their families together and celebrated Christmas in a big way.

Boyata and Rogic are likely starters at Pittodrie with the other two just part of the travelling squad.

Three out of the four of these guys are out of contract in the summer with Tom Rogic being the only one on a long-term deal to this point.

Celtic fans would love to see Boyata sign a new deal before the January window opens but it seems unlikely at this point.

We would like to wish all our readers a very Merry Christmas wherever they are in the world!
