According to reports, FIFA is set to announce new measures in the next 48 hours to ease the pressure on leagues around the world and try to provide some semblance of clarity in how to go forward.

The Athletic is reporting FIFA is set to confirm an indefinite extension to the 19/20 season to give every league the capability to get the games done when the shutdown eases in different countries at different times.

It’s also being reported FIFA are set to provide clarity on player contracts and deals which end in June this year if the season hasn’t been completed.

With UEFA playing a big hand to this point in what European teams do, they seem to me only interested in protecting their own competitions.

Scottish football is likely to follow the lead of the European leagues around them.

Nothing is certain until the UK get over the worst part of the current situation. Which shows no signs of slowing down.

The Athletic report FIFA’s guidelines will be set out within the next 48 hours. Could this allow a scenario where Celtic can lift the trophy on the pitch.
