It has emerged FIFA are consulting with leagues about the possibility of keeping the next transfer window open until the end of January once football and the window gets a go ahead.

The usual summer window consists of 12 weeks where clubs are allowed to do their business. League can change dates and even cut short their windows but the 12 weeks must stand.

However, given the current world crisis and the possibilities of leagues ending much later than planned, FIFA may look to extend the window so business can be done throughout the second part of the year and into next.

SunSport report the proposal is being floated at the moment and nothing is off the table.

This could mean there’s a scenario where clubs can strengthen their squad as the season progresses.

Right now, it’s all about the effort to get over the worst of COVID-19 and see where we are in a few months time.

There’s so much uncertainty surrounding every walk of life at the moment, football plays second fiddle to many things. But we must be prepared for the restart, whenever that might be!
