CELTIC will play their final reserve league game of the season today and perhaps ever after it was revealed earlier this week that many clubs are set to quit the competition as reported by Herald Scotland.

However, before any major decisions are made on that front there’s a small matter of the SPFL Reserve League Title being won and it’s set up for final day drama.

Today the title will be decided and there could be one of three clubs who win the trophy by the end of play today.

Celtic take on St Johnstone at Lennoxtown this afternoon knowing they have a mountain to climb. The bhoys must win on the day and to make sure of the title they will have to score four more goals than The Rangers who are scheduled to take on Falkirk at Falkirk Stadium.

It’s straight forward for Graeme Murty’s men in Falkirk – a two or three nil win would most likely be enough to win the title.

If the Ibrox side were to lose then Celtic would win the title if they managed a victory or draw against St Johnstone. The plot thickens because if both Glasgow clubs lose on the day then Hibernian would be crowned the winners – the Easter Road outfit have already played their final game of the campaign.

So all eyes on Lennoxtown and the Falkirk stadium today to see where the Reserve Trophy is heading.
