Celtic had to show a reaction on Saturday to leaving Dingwall with all three points.

Postecoglou’s side dominated the match, but after Ross County grabbed a goal against the run of play, the team had to work hard to get back in front.

After attack after attack, fans felt that a goal was coming, but Giakoumakis and Kyogo were on the pitch and had Jota and Abada supporting them out wide. The threat from Celtic was there for all to see.

A quick corner from Celtic saw the ball floated into the box, and Mortiz Jenz met it, heading it home. Celtic didn’t settle for a 2-1 win, pushing for the third goal in the game’s final minutes. Abada then sealed the three points with his terrific effort in the 91st minute.

Celtic Boss Ange Postecoglou was impressed by his team’s reaction, labelling it ‘first class’. As quoted by The Sun, the manager said;

“We showed our football last year but also the resilience and determination to overcome any challenge.

“When you believe in something as strongly as these guys do, whatever impediment there is in front of us, they feel confident they can overcome.

“The game of football is funny. You can dominate a game and should be comfortably ahead. Then they get a corner and score. You are looking for a reaction, and the reaction was first class.

“Credit to the players, from start to finish we played it on our terms. We were patient when we needed to be and the response to their goal was outstanding. We stuck to the task, played our football, scored another good goal and even then at 2-1 there was no thought of stopping there.”

Great Season Start for Celtic
