The Highland League have tonight announced Brora Rangers as the champions of their league.

Brora Rangers weren’t mathematically over the line but they were champions in waiting when the shutdown came into play.

The league has taken decisive action and awarded the title to Brora and cup games will be played early next season.

Right now, we’re no further forward with what will happen to Scottish Football. Celtic are runaway leaders and were on their way to a ninth consecutive title before the global health emergency shut the season down.

Celtic have made it clear they would not accept the league being null and void should the football season be unable to return.

The highland league has set a precedent that the SPFL might just have to follow.

As always, football is secondary to what’s going on in the world but we have people in charge of our game which ace to make decisions for the good of the game now so when we get over the worst of this – we can get back to business.

  1. Roddy Mcdonald will be happy. Shame though, I pity Fort Williams Ultra group. Yet again they finish bottom of their league. Brickbats for tea then. Up the Fortiez. Cmon you boys in space.

  2. I’m pretty sure that the Scottish premier league will come under a totally different set of rules, contracts etc, which makes this piece totally irrelevant!

  3. This is not a duplicate comment at all! I was just saying celtic and the Scottish. Premiier league will be under a totally different set of rules etc so there is no point in this comment.
