A quick review of the new FITBA magazine.
This magazine does as the title suggests. It delves into all parts of Scottish football including the women’s game which is always deprived of attention from the usual media outlets.
You could be forgiven for not realising this is only their second issue as the online magazine is so professionally put together. The graphics and layout seem to suggest they have been doing it for years!
This issue takes you from Sir Alex Ferguson, to Neil Lennon with pit stops at Aberdeen and even the Highland league. It has something for every type of Scottish football fan!
Alan Rennie’s piece on Sir Alex Ferguson is a great read. It not only covers is Manchester Utd years but takes your right back to his roots in Scottish football and how he became arguably the greatest ever manager.
The most interesting piece in this magazine for Celtic fans will of course be Tam Payne’s look at Neil Lennon and his journey so far as Celtic manager. From picking up the below average pieces of Tony Mowbray’s reign to hitting the heights against Barcelona. This article puts his time as Celtic manager under the microscope and even provides a key date timeline since he joined up as a coach with Celtic under now Scotland gaffer Gordon Strachan. An article not to be missed.
It also provides you with an in-depth preview of all the Scottish Leagues and predictions for the new season. It is particularly fascinating learning a little about the Highland League and the teams within it.
One of the best articles came from Glasgow City’s womens footballer Danni Pagliarulo who opens up about eating disorders within womens sports and shares her own experience with you. A brave and insightful Q&A.
These are only some of the articles and features in issue 2! A lot of hard work has been put into this magazine and it shows. I would recommend it to anyone who has an interest in the game north of the border.
In a time where a lot of people like to put the Scottish game down this is a welcome ray of positivity.
I look forward to the third issue.
