The summer window has only been closed a month but in less than three months we get to do the transfer circus all over again in January. At that time Celtic will take stock of where they are and what they need for the rest of the season.

However, it won’t just be the club that is eyeing their next move – there are FIVE Celtic players who will be able to talk to other clubs come January unless the club choose to engage in contract talks with any of them before January 1st 2020.

The current state of play is; Craig Gordon, Nir Bitton, Scott Sinclair, Jonny Hayes and Calvin Miller are all entering the last six months of their Celtic deals come January.

Calvin has not made the cut at Celtic in a first team capacity – the attacker was turned into a left-back when Brendan Rodgers in charge and it’s left him in no-mans land.

Gordon is playing second fiddle to Fraser Forster at the moment but both players will cause Celtic a headache at the end of the season when Fraser returns to Southampton and Craig goes on his way.

Bitton, Sinclair and Hayes could all offer Celtic something – Sinclair mostly but the manager for whatever reason just doesn’t want to use hi. It’s highly likely Scotty could sign a pre-contract with another side when January hits. Bitton and Hayes are fringe players but both appear to be in Neil Lennon’s good graces.

Will either be offered a new deal?

Celtic have their most important players tied down beyond this season and maybe some natural attrition has to occur. Could it be five out of five out the door come June next year?
