After the international break – five Celtic players who have yet to play a proper part in this season could finally begin their seasons properly.
Our injury woes have been well documented and the team has had to plod along without any real back up on the bench.
Ange has been working with a threadbare squad but things could ease of greatly with significant returns expected.
Christopher Jullien
Ange Postecoglou believes the French defender who’s been out for 10 months at this point could return to first team training with the the rest of the squad after the international break. Given the defender hasn’t played in a long time he will need to be managed and have some sort of pre-season before getting game time. It could take just a little bit longer to get Jullien on the field.
He’s not been fit enough and has suffered niggling injuries. We’ve not heard anything from Celtic since the international break – but we’re going with no news is good news. Gorgios should surely be ready to make an impact.
James Forrest
The winger’s injury has been tricky. Celtic thought James would be back by now but he keeps suffering setbacks. There’s not a date on his return but again, the hope is the Celtic star will be back this month – at least in training.
Mikey Johnston
He seems to be made of glass. They really need to get the player right before his next Celtic outing. The last few times Mikey has had game time he’s got injured. The wee man will be desperate to show what he can do and that his body can hold up. He’s also nearing a return.
Josip Juranovic
Injured before the international break – we were told the Croatian would be out for around two week. Does that mean he’ll be good to go again for Motherwell on Saturday – we have to wait and see but the sooner we can get Josip back in – the better.
Someone should be looking into our training methods for so many of these so called niggling injuries to be happening so often.
