In Ange Postecoglou’s first press conference as Celtic Manager, he was asked questions by mainstream media. The new boss was joined by the new Chief Executive Dom McKay and Chairman Ian Bankier.

One of the questions posed to the panel was if the Scotland Internationals currently away would be in contention for Celtic’s Champions League Qualifier on the 20th of July.

“Yeah, we’ll give them a bit of a break now I think they’ve earned it.” Ange told Celtic

“The boys have ridden an emotional rollercoaster so it’s good for them to have a break.

But from what I know of them they’re keen to get back, if anything I’ll have to keep them away for a little bit longer.

This is brilliant news for Celtic fans, with 5 key players set to return from the Scottish national team. This Could see Ryan Christie, James Forrest, Greg Taylor, Callum McGregor and David Turnbull all start the 19:45 kick-off at Celtic Park.

Midfielder Callum McGregor was the only one out of the five to feature in all 3 games and scored in Scotland’s final game of the tournament.

These Internationals were sent home after only recording 1 point in the EURO 2020 group Stage. The point came after a goalless draw in the English capital. Scotland lost both other games against the Czech Republic and Croatia, which were held at Hampden Park.
