Make no mistake about it, the 2-0 lead Celtic take to the Netherlands next week is a slight advantage and there is still a massive job to be done.

The visitors should have gone 0-1 up in the first five minutes only for a brilliant Joe Hart save. The English shot-stopper is what the football club was missing big time last season.

That being said – this Celtic team worked out of their skin for 90 minutes and if they can put in the same kind of shift next week they should be ok. A brilliant piece of play from Tom Rogic set up Kyogo to score Celtic’s first goal, the Japanese superstar volleying home to keep his unbelievable scoring form red hot.

Kyogo was involved in the second goal two when he put James Forrest through and his deflected shot gave the Hoops a well deserved 2-0 win.

It is amazing the transformation that has happened in a very short space of time at Celtic since Ange has taken over. The Australian was handed a depleted squad that was short in numbers all over the park and short of confidence.

The swagger is back in the team and players like Ralston and Welsh are playing like new signings rather than academy graduates. Celtic are now on a winning streak of five games and it is a long time since a Celtic fan could say that.

If the manager can get at least two more ready-made signings in the door before the closing of the transfer window Celtic fans can raise their expectations a little more.
