CELTIC look like they’re closing in on a deal for Hatem Abd Elhamed from Hapoel Beer Sheva, but how long has the player been on Celtic’s radar?

We might have just unearthed the answer from back in April. We reported at the time, football agent Dudu Dahan posted the snap below of himself outside Celtic Park ready to head into the building.

Not too many eyebrows were raised at the time because Duhan represents Nir Bitton. However, we can assume now that it wasn’t to do with Nir as there has been very little talk of a contract extension at the minute.

The agent has also brought players like Efe Ambrose, Stefan Scepovic and Rami Gershon to the club over the years.

Dudu’s trip to Celtic Park could have been the start of negotiations or just a meeting about some of the potential talent he has on his books.

It looks he will see this one over the line for Celtic and Neil Lennon. Let’s hope Hatem works our better than Gershon.

  1. Yet another cheap signing that would be a joke if Sevco made it. Celtic are not a serious CL club. If you don’t pay you won’t play. The same agent with a long line of failed players from Israel. What has happened to all the money raked in from transfers and Cl participation?

  2. Cheap signing john but some times money buys you a type of player and not a name he looks the part and only time will tell if he is a good fit, Celtic need a few more players in and around £2 to 3 million price tag to fill gaps and plug holes when needed there will be more players coming then we can be judge and jury on what the manager brings in and boots out, going be a long season and you do not want to be short of players like last season…

  3. As Lennon himself says we need quality not quantity. This guy will be lucky if he plays 5 times. We have seen a long line of these clowns paraded through Celtic Park. The going rate for an SPL plodder is 3 mill if we want to get to the CL then we need to shop in the 5-6 mill bracket. You get what you pay for and we have seen loads of 1m to 2m players in the past 3-4 years how many have been worth even this. How have they contributed? First team players needed not plugging gaps.

  4. Listen to John apparently he knows how to run a proffessional football club where did you get your buisness degree John Glasgow Uni ? why didn’t you apply for the Scotland international Job you seem like the sort of guy that would have us winning the world cup in 2 years even though it’s not on for another 3 year.
