BRENDAN RODGERS has put Ryan Christie’s winning goal something from the ‘Footballing Gods’ after Aberdeen did more than their bit to help him develop over the past two years.

It seemed like it was written in the stars for the former Aberdeen player to be the one to sore the goal which resigned the Dons to another Cup Final defeat at the hands of Brendan Rodgers.

“We’re Very satisfied it was a very tough game for us off the back of our run of fixtures,” Rodgers told BT Sport.

“We kept possession of the ball and it was a brilliant finish by Ryan.

“Aberdeen really helped his development, brought him on and he’s scored the winner against them this afternoon.

“He now has the personality to play at a big club. I felt when he came in he didn’t have the ability to make an impact.

“He came back, more physical, A better player in the game and he’s doing well now.”

Brendan Rodgers has won EVERY single domestic trophy that has been put in front of him as Celtic manager.

Today is another bit of history for the club and it’s great to see Ryan developing under the Irishman.

Celtic are now chasing a whopping treble, treble! The League Cup is the first piece of the puzzle for the bhoys in what could be another memorable season.

Celtic will now look to kick on from here and hopefully progress in Europe as well as continue to dominate domestic.
