There has been a very dangerous and misleading narrative among a certain support who are trying their best to discredit Celtic.

We seen one example of this narrative from a petulant Ibrox fan masquerading as a football account.

The narrative Celtic are pushing for the season to be finished without the rest of the games being played is absolutely false and the tweet above indicative of an agenda.

Had they stopped and actually looked at the facts, this account and many others would see the Scottish Champions are actively seeking the game be restarted when possible.

The quote below ran in RecordSport last week:

Here was Celtic’s first statement on their preference “With regard to the present domestic Premiership league situation, our strong preference is, of course, to complete all remaining matches.

“To date, we have had a magnificent campaign, undefeated in this calendar year, completing 30 league matches already to create a commanding lead and we are now on the cusp of winning our ninth successive title.

“As many have already said, the season cannot be voided as the consequences of that are so severe.

“In the event that the matches cannot be completed, then the responsibility to find a fair and reasonable solution or the finalisation of all domestic leagues will we be with the Scottish football governing bodies.”

What we have here is an agenda with people actively using a worldwide crisis to their advantage in a bid to hide their shortcomings. It’s quite pathetic.

The 4th official account just one instance of the blinkered ignorance which plagues that side of the fence.

Knowing full well the serious of the scenario around the world and the unlikely instance football can’t return in time to salvage the last eight games, they want to see it wiped from the history books. That won’t happen so they’ll move to discredit to make themselves feel better.

So, for the avoidance of doubt, Celtic are not lobbying anyone to finish the season early – what the SPFL is doing, is making provisions for what happens next.
