Celtic’s transfer model of signing young talent and developing them into first-team stars is what has set them apart from other clubs in Scotland over the last decade.

With so much young talent bought up from all over the world in the last few years it is easy to lose track of players when they are not front and centre. Andrew Gutman fits this bill perfectly. The American has suffered more at the hands of authorities fumbling about with a work permit rather than any football reasons.

Ryan Christie and Kristoffer Ajer are probably the best current examples of players going out on loan to eventually return to Paradise and carve out a first-team place. Gutman who is currently with FC Cincinnati in the MLS was asking fans not to give up on him just yet as he has hopes of doing a Christie or Ajer into the Celtic first team.

He told the Glasgow Evening Times:

“I think about playing at Celtic Park almost every day. I have been working out and then I’ll just drift off into a little daydream and I am playing at Celtic Park or something like that.”

“I want to stay at Celtic for as long as I can. I want the Celtic fans to be patient with me because I am not an ordinary signing in terms of paperwork and stuff like that.”
