It seems like an eternity since we seen Nir Bitton in a Celtic jersey but after a successful operation earlier in the year and intense rehab, the player is finally back on the training field.

The Israeli has been out since February when the Celtic manager announced that Nir would pay no more part in their double treble winning season.

A devastating knee injury ended the midfielders season prematurely but he has been upbeat during the whole process.

Before going down injured Nir became a bit of a utility man for Brendan Rodgers who utilised the player at centre back as well as centre midfield due to injuries.

The player actually helped Celtic’s Champions League qualification last season by filling in at centre back.

There’s no official timetable for Nir’s return but we could see him before the winter break in January.

Celtic’s hectic schedule means more players will be getting a chance at game time between now and December.
