FORMER £1.5m Celtic striker Amido Balde is having a very tough time at his new club with fans calling for his head.

We reported back in February the former Parkhead flop had signed for Persebaya Surabaya with the club using some of his Celtic footage to promote him to the fanbase.

Since arriving the striker has scored four goals in eight appearances, but it would appear the player is finding the going tough when trying to win over the fans.

Persebaya Surabaya boss Djadjang Nurdjaman told Suryamalang : “I hope not to panic. I feel bad about defending Balde.

“But let’s think positively, he’s still new and also needs time,

“He has tried to show the best, we see the opponent is also difficult to guard him.”

Balde was signed by current interim boss Neil Lennon back in his first stint as manager and Amido was part of the season Kris Commons came to the forefront as the Parkhead club’s top goalscorer.

Both the tall striker and Teemu Pukki found the going tough in Glasgow.

While Amido still seems to be struggling, Teemu is thriving down south in the Championship with Norwich scoring 27 goals in 39 games. The player is on course to become a Premier League player next season.
