Former Australian international Ross Aloisi has revealed he has held talks with his agent, stating that he wants to work with new boss Ange Postecoglou.

The 55-year old is well respected in Australia, where he was once manager of the national team. He also had a spell as manager of Brisbane Roar in his homeland.

Brisbane is where Aloisi first spent time with Ange.

Recently, in his homeland, rumours have been circulating that Aloisi could be joining Postecoglou’s coaching staff and

Speaking to The Real Football Show, the former midfielder and current Adelaide coach was asked about this, and he stated that he had held talks with his agent, asking about the possibility.

“All I can really tell you is that I spoke to my agent, Frank Trimboli, two days ago, but that’s about it.

“I know Ange reasonably well and have kept in contact with him over the years as well. But I think my focus is the task in hand and that’s a game against Sydney FC at the weekend.

“Everyone wants to work with Ange. I spent a bit of time with him up in Brisbane when he first started coaching the Brisbane Roar, the first season that they won the championship.

“Look, everyone wants to go to Europe and coach, but the reality is that there are obstacles that you have to cross, and it’s not my main focus at the moment. Like I said, I would love, like everyone else, to go to Europe and coach, but we have a big game coming up, and we want to give it our best shot.”

We are currently awaiting an update as to who Postecoglou’s new coaching staff will be, with John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan remaining at the club just now to take the first part of pre-season.

Hopefully, with Ange being able to meet incoming CEO Dom McKay in London on Friday, they will have been ironing out plans for his backroom team going into the next campaign.
