Former Celtic striker has admitted he is shocked to see Celtic’s decision regarding Scott Brown as he looks set to depart and become a player/coach at fellow Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen.

Speaking on PLZ Soccer, Darren Jackson spoke about how much of a huge opportunity it is for Aberdeen to get a player of Scott Brown’s quality and experience on-board whilst also expressing his shock at the Hoops letting him go at the end of the season.

“That’s an attraction for Aberdeen if they are going to get Scott Brown.

“It amazes me that Celtic are going to let him go, absolutely amazes me.

“But if they are going to get him that’s a huge attraction for a player who is a born winner.

“He will go up there and he will demand out of the Aberdeen players that they never had before because at Celtic he’s had 14 years of having to win every single game.

“That’s what Scott Brown will be bringing.”

When the news came out on Monday night that Brown could be set for a move to Aberdeen next season, many fans were left shocked.

Yesterday, the Dons announced the appointment of Stephen Glass which was the first piece of the jigsaw in bringing Brown to the club as Glasses assistant for the new campaign.

Going into next season, it does come as a bit of a surprise to see the club letting the club captain go. Of course, it is a huge opportunity for Brown at the age he is at.

However, we are going into the clubs biggest transition in years it may have been a better idea to try and keep the 35-year old on board with such a huge rebuild on the way.
