FORMER Celtic midfielder Paul Lambert has taken the Stoke City job after it was revealed last night his former Celtic boss, Martin O’Neill would not be leaving the Irish setup to take the post.

Lambert, who has been without a club since May last year when he and Wolves decided to ‘part ways’ will be in charge of the potters for the rest of the season.

Paul was linked with the Scotland job until now but has decided to stay in club football and is tasked with turning around Stoke City’s fortunes.

The club sit in the relegation zone with 20 points from 22 games.
