Once signed by Neil Lennon and for a brief period perhaps our most solid central midfielder – Beram Kayal who has forged out a career down south made an unexpected deadline day move to Charlton.

The Brighton player has headed out on loan to the club for the rest of the season with the Israeli surplus to requirements at the seaside club.

Kayal was signed by Neil Lennon back in 2010 and spent five years as a bhoy before moving on to England. The midfielder once kept Victor Wanyama out of the Celtic team before the now Spurs player rose to prominence in his number 67 jersey.

Many believed the bad leg injury Beram sustained at the hands of Lee McCulloch was the catalyst for his poor run of form which lead to his eventual departure.

He will now be hoping to help Charlton to a position as high up the Championship table as possible. Good luck to him.
