FORMER Celtic striker Craig Beattie’s career looks to be winding down very quietly with the former Celtic player ‘mutually agreeing’ to rip up his Elgin contract which was just signed in the summer.

The Scottish League 2 side signed the frontman from Edinburgh City but after just half a season half cut their ties with the Scotsman.

Beattie played 17 games for Elgin scoring 0 goals and assisting in none.

It’s unclear what he will do next, but it’s a far cry from the days of the last 16 of the Champions League when the striker actually got on at the San Siro to try and salvage Celtic’s quarter-final hopes.

Beattie has been a bit of a footballing nomad since leaving Celtic, and before he was even at Celtic Park, he belonged to Old Rangers youth system. From England to Malta, the player has undoubtedly racked up the miles over his career.

At the age of 35, does he have anything left in him?

  1. Fuck him !!!
Still remember the way he celebrated scoring a penalty against us for the Edinburgh Huns at Hampden.
Right enough, he might get a gig with Sevco, about the right age and mind set.HH

  2. At 35 does he still have it? He never had it. He was shite, and I was relieved when the club got shot of him.
The scumbag has no affection for the club, which was proven the way he celebrated his penalty against us.
Couldn’t give a shit how bad his career has been since he left us.
    Fuck him!
