FORMER Celtic and Scotland boss Gordon Strachan believes that this summers upheaval and nonsense surrounding two Celtic Players have played their part in Celtic’s slow start.

The bhoys have only scored six goals in six SPFL games and have yet to win away from home after three attempts; one draw and two defeats has not been good enough.

Speaking from experience, the former Parkhead gaffer said with Moussa Dembele’s antics and Dedryck Boyata stamping his feet, it has all contributed to the situation Celtic are in now.

“Dembele jumped up and down and caused havoc, Boyata did a bit of that but stayed. That does affect a dressing room.

“Players at Celtic thought life was great, playing every week in front of 60,000 who cheer you, with no challenge in the league.

“But now’s the time you find out if you’re ready for top-level football. This is the moment of truth for Celtic.“

Brendan Rodgers side sit six points off of Hearts and just one point behind their Glasgow rivals as they look to get back to winning ways in the league this Saturday with a tough game against Aberdeen.

Boyata will be available for the game after picking up a red card in the League Cup. He will be suspended for the semi-final versus Hearts but is free to play in the league.

Elsewhere, it’s bad news for Ajer as he looks to be out for nearly a month after suffering a hamstring injury midweek.
