Charlie Mulgrew’s son could be following in his Dad’s footsteps after it was confirmed the player’s son Josh has joined the under 14 academy side.

Mulgrew came through the ranks at Celtic but it wasn’t until a spell away from the club that he would come back and play an important role.

The player has had a great career, even after leaving Celtic the second time. The utility man showing his worth down south.

Charlie’s whole family is coming back up the road where they look to settle down after years of moving around as reported by SunSport. Josh has an opportunity to play for Celtic and he will, of course, be there on merit at the moment.

Celtic have problems with the more senior players in the youth side. There is no clear plan or path to the first team which has frustrated many young talents who have since gone elsewhere. It’s up to the new manager and set up to make sure we don’t lose top young talent in the future.

It’s hard to think of the spirit the teams of even the recent past showed pulling on that shirt!
