FRANK LAMPARD has confirmed he’s looking to sign former Celtic defender Efe Ambrose on short term deal after the player met with the Derby manager.
Efe cut ties with Hibernian and Scottish football during the January window. The Nigerian had a clause in his contract where he could leave six months early from his agreed deal if he so chose. The player exercised the contract clause and left in plenty of time so he could be registered elsewhere when the time came.
The former Barcelona beater looks like he’s going to try his hand in English football with former Chelsea man taking a liking to Efe.
Speaking about the player, it will be no surprise to Celtic fans what Lampard has said:
“I have found him very nice, very good, very friendly, so as a character I think he would be great for us anyway,” said the former Chelsea and England midfielder.” Lampard Said.
“I watched a lot of him, I know his strengths. He is a tall defender, very committed, wants to play on the ball, and quick.
“It is just about making sure about his level of fitness and that both sides are happy it is going to work.”
Efe was an enigma at Celtic but most fans still have a soft spot for the player who has always been great with the Celtic support.
