It’s one former Celtic out and one in at Dunfermline this week as the club confirm John Hughes has become their new manager.

John will be replacing Peter Grant who was only brought in at the beginning of the season to help the struggling club. Grant’s tenure was a disaster and they finally parted ways with the former Celtic player last week.

Hughes has a great reputation within the Scottish game and did really well with Ross County last season when he was called upon. It was surprising the manager didn’t stay at the club beyond the end of last season.

We were hoping Hughes would become part of a new look Celtic Colt setup in the summer, but it wasn’t to be.

He will not try to improve the fortunes of Dunfermline on and off the park.

We wish the manager every success with his new club, it’s not going to be an easy turnaround.

  1. Pars fans will have mixed feelings about Yogis appointment, given his Bairns background. But they will know they’ve got a good guy in him .
