JACK HENDRY has turned his career around after leaving Celtic for KV Oostende at the start of the 20/21 campaign. Included in his contract was an option to buy the now Scotland International, the Belgian club triggered this.

Now the Defender plays for Club Brugge ad started the history-making match when Messi played his first Champions League appearance for PSG. The game finished 1-1 with the front three of Neymar, Mbappe and Messi unable to have their name written on the scoresheet.

“It has been a great experience to play PSG and Leipzig.” He told RecordSport

“Playing against Messi, Neymar and Mbappe – the best front three you could come up against at this moment in world football.

“We played well and I felt we pretty much limited them. It was a great experience. Now I have had a taste of it, I want to keep playing at that level against top opposition.

You just have to back yourself. I feel I could back myself with my pace and game experience if Mbappe or Neymar got in behind.

“I hope I backed that up in those two games. It is about keeping at that level.

“I know I still have a lot of progressing to do because in those two games I learned so much.”

Jack hopes the experience gained will help him in this weekends Scotland.

“I just need to keep learning to make myself the best player I can be. When I step on to the international stage it should also help me with Scotland.”

The former Celtic defender performed well and received praise from media outlets across the world.

Jack Hendry then started the second game of the group, when the Belgian side faced Bundesliga side Red Bull Leipzig. Unable to keep a clean sheet, Hendry’s side were victorious 2-1.

Now the defender is part of the Scotland set-up, as well as playing at the top European level, it looks like leaving Celtic was the best decision he made.
