Former Celtic defender and current Hibs Star is reportedly ready to ditch the SPFL for a shock move to the Premier League according to reports.

The Nigerian defender who became a cult hero at Celtic has been one of Neil Lennon’s best acquisitions as Hibs boss when he brought the African Nations Cup winner to Easter Road.

However, it emerged this week the defender has a get out clause in his contract as he reaches the last six months of his deal, leaving Efe to leave for nothing this month if he can find a new club.

The same report claims Premier League strugglers Cardiff City are keen on the former Celtic player and could be ready to offer him a generous package to quit Scotland for Wales.

This would be a remarkable transfer for Efe. While he was part of the Celtic side which famously downed Barcelona, there are a lot of fans out there who remember the big man for his mistakes and some erratic performances.

Efe has matured well at Hibs and at 30, his next deal is likely to be his last big football contract. We wish him all the best.
