EMILIO IZAGUIRRE is weighing up an option that would see him return to his first club Motagua after things fell through in Saudi Arabia.

The little left back spent seven years at Celtic Park where he won over the hearts of the fans and only lost his place to what looks to be one of Celtic’s best ever young talents in Kieran Tierney.

The Honduran moved to Celtic from Motagua in 2010 and has only played for three clubs in his whole career.

After leaving Saudi Arabia the defender was looking at a move to the MLS but has admitted in the past few days that a return to his first club may be too hard to turn down.

He said: “My desire is to retire in Motagua, if they ask me and the Manager Diego (Vazquez) has me, I am happy to come back to play on the left.”

“I have had some offers, we are hoping to decide soon, that is the will of God.”

Izzy made 251 appearances for the Hoops, bagging ten trophies and some personal honours.

Some fans wish he had stayed a little longer.
