Former Celtic striker Vakoun Bayo has been handed a blow after reports have suggested he has ‘no future’ at new club Gent.

After spending the season on loan with Ligue 2 side Toulouse, the Ivorian frontman completed a move away from Parkhead in the summer to join the Belgian league side.

However, as reported by the Daily Record, according to Belgian media outlet Voetbalkrant, Bayo has been told to look for a move elsewhere just months into his career at Gent.

Having made just one start so far, the report also states that the 24-year old striker has “not reached the level” that boss Hein Vanhaezebrouck, who no longer sees his future with his side.

It has been far from the ideal few years for Vakoun Bayo, who has struggled mostly since moving away from Slovkain side Dunajská Streda.

He will likely be hoping to secure another move in January in order to find himself a club where he is playing regular football once again.
