FORMER Celtic manager Wim Jansen has revealed in his new book that he is suffering from dementia. [As cited by SunSport]
The man who stopped the ten in 1998, winning the league on the last day of the season, and the man who brought Henrik Larsson to these shores has a special place in our history.
Wim only stayed for one season but he made a lasting impact at Celtic Park and the supporters who were around at the time still hold the Dutchman in very high regard.
It’s heartbreaking to hear Wim is suffering from dementia
Jansen ponders when the disease will take hold of him: “I wonder how fast it will get to me?
“Will I remain as I am for a while or go downhill?
“I still enjoy the company of my children and grandchildren. I still try and go to Feyenoord home games.
“But with everything else, I will have to make choices.”
Wim has hs own history against Celtic, being part of the Feyenoord side who beat the club in a European Cup Final in 1970.
Wim has always been a class act and it’s such a shame to see another former football suffer from this horrible disease.
