FORMER Celtic hero Joe Ledley has tweeted from his hospital bed after undergoing surgery on Tuesday morning.

The Welshman who was a fan-favourite during his time at Celtic Park underwent Hip surgery after missing the last two months of action with club Derby County.

Ledley, 31, left Celtic for Crystal Palace in 2014 for an undisclosed fee with many speculating it was around £3million.

Joe would later say he was pushed out the door at Celtic who were scared he’d leave on a free transfer the following summer as he had yet to sign a deal.

The Welshman was adamant he was happy in Glasgow and shocked when he discovered a bid had been accepted.

After Joe’s stint at Palace he found Derby County and has been playing with the Championship side since October last year.

Speaking about his midfielder’s injury, Frank Lampard was hopeful of getting the former Celtic man fit again.

“He’s had a couple of issues with his hip – it’s more of a lower back problem, which has been a regular thing for Joe since I’ve been here but before that as well.

“It’s something we’re trying to manage and he’s trying to manage. He wants to be fit, obviously.”

We wish Joe all the best with his recovery.
