It has been confirmed this evening Moussa Dembele has made his move to Ateltico Madrid from Lyon.
The deal is a loan move with an obligation to buy this summer.
We’re not privy to the fee but Celtic will be due money when the permanent deal goes through.
Moussa spent two seasons at Celtic where he lit up the Celtic front line. His move to Lyon was not without controversy and at the time he was hounded by supporters for going public on social media. The fans backed Brendan Rodgers story of events while Moussa warned supporters to be careful who they called their leader.
It would be six months later when that tweet would make sense, Brendan Rodgers hot-footed it out of Celtic Park and never looked back. By the end of that season, Brendan Rodgers was the man not in the Celtic supports good graces while Moussa came back on trophy day and even went pitchside for the occasion.
His move to Atletico could see Dembele pick up a La Liga winners medal at the end of this season. The club are four points ahead in the league with two games in hand over Real Madrid and Barcelona.
