It’s been two years since Dedryk Boyata left Celtic to head to Hertha Berlin. It seems like a lifetime ago since his bust up with Brendan Rodgers and the Irishman’s refusal to sell the Belgian.

Dedryk’s agent even turned up at training on the eve of a Glasgow Derby to try and have words with Rodgers who was fuming by the tactic.

When Celtic fans heard Boyata was spoiling for a move, they weren’t happy. The defender claimed he was injured for a Euro qualifier while the manager disputed that. When he came back into the team, Dedryk was treated to a banner from the Green Brigade which read ‘Not FIT to where the jersey’. In true footballing fashion, Dedryk would score the winner on that evening for the Hoops.

The Belgian let his contract run out and negotiated terms with Hertha Berlin before the end of that season. He’s spent two seasons with the German outfit so far and has one-year left on his deal.

Hertha just escaped relegation last season and according to Bild, the former Celtic Invincible is looking to move on this summer.
