If you read with us regularly you will already know what Willo Flood has been up to in the offseason.

The former Celtic midfielder has signed for Dunfermline and spent seven days at the club before asking for his release. The lower league club happily obliged so Flood could make a money-spinning move to Indonesia with Bali FC who released a signing video of the player on Friday which was just a touch surreal.

But NOW, the plot and transfer saga thicken’s with the news that ‘red tape’ has caused his deal with Bali FC to collapse.

Apparently to gain a work permit for a footballer they must show evidence of recent top-flight football and with the Irishman plying his trade in the Scottish Championship this has been rejected.

Bali manager commented:

“Willo Flood’s contract has been cancelled because of the regulations restricting foreign players in Liga 1.

“Because he played in a league in Scotland that wasn’t their top league, we have been informed he does not meet the criteria.

So Flood has now had two clubs and played zero games since finishing up for the summer.
