He wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea while he was at Celtic but Scott Allan seemed more like a pawn in a game of transfer one-upsmanship than anything else.

The central midfielder never got a chance under Ronny Deila or Brendan Rodgers and by the time Neil Lennon headed back to the club, Allan had signed a deal with the Irishman’s former side Hibernian.

Last term, Allan did well with the Easter Road side but this year the player has been out since August, not even being able to train with the rest of his team-mates.

The player made a pleasant surprise this week to the training ground and is now looking to get back up to speed to help Jack Ross and his side.

Allan has a lot of talent but wherever he’s went, the midfielder has struggled to hold down a place. His stints at Hibs have been the most successful.
