Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton was quick off the mark to react to Hibernian’s 3-1 victory over Rangers in the Premier Sports Cup this afternoon.
The Ibrox side was defeated by a first-half hat-trick from winger Martin Boyle and couldn’t mount a comeback to get themselves back in the game.
Reacting almost instantly after the final whistle, Sutton was quick to remind those on Twitter that any possibility of a treble is now off for Rangers, as well as congratulating Hibs on their achievement of reaching the final of the League Cup.
I’m sure Sutton’s Twitter mentions will be full of reactions to this tweet later this evening.
Congratulations to Hibs. Comfortable win?? Treble off once again sadly for Rangers…

It hasn’t been the ideal few weeks for the Ibrox club, losing their manager and now crashing out at the semi-final stage to the Edinburgh side.
I am certain it is the opposite feeling for the rest of us in the aftermath of that game.
With that result, we will now see the stands at Hampden Park filled with Green and White on the 19th of December as the Hoops prepare to take on Hibs.
