There is a mystery around the reasons why former Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic left the club in May with it taking so long for him to find another club.

Reports had previously stated that the 29-year old was looking to move back closer to Australia with it coming as a shock to many when he made the switch to English Championship side West Bromwich Albion under the guidance of Steve Bruce.

Rogic has yet to make too much of an impact down south having only managed six appearances for his new side since joining in early September.

It looked as though Socceroos boss Graham Arnold had sent some warning signs to the former Celtic star whose position in the Aussies World Cup squad for Qatar was under threat.

Rogic was not selected by Arnold with the Hoops set to have received a decent sum of money had he been participating in the tournament.

With Bruce having now left the club, Rogic has it all to prove to new boss Carlos Corberan who has been full of praise for the midfielder’s attitude having been left out his national teams side with him still trying to force his way into the West Brom team.

“The only thing I can tell you is I am watching a very good attitude in both players,” Corberan said when speaking of Tom Rogic and Daryl Dike with both players being left out their national teams World Cup squads. [Football Scotland].

“I knew both players had the possibilities to go to the World Cup and maybe for the reason you say (not enough game time) the national team didn’t decide to select them.

“I am watching players really, really focused in the situation we are having right now.”
